Travelers often visit Nguyen Hue Walking Street to sample the tasty street food, and if you're looking for certain Vietnamese dishes, you will likely find them amongst the vast array of vendors.
At the end of Nguyen Hue Walking Street, you can also find the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee buildings. This is a French Colonial-era city hall that was built during the 1900s. Although it is now home to the People's Committee, visitors can still enjoy the fascinating architecture from outside the building. It's one of the best examples of beautifully preserved French Colonial architecture in Ho Chi Minh City, and I highly recommend looking out for it while walking through the Nguyen Hue Walking Street.

Soaking up the street’s vibrant atmosphere is another great way to enjoy the area. You can find many street performers and live music performances whilst walking around the Nguyen Hue Walking Street, and even if you have already eaten elsewhere, this area is still a great place to take a stroll while observing some local culture and beautiful architecture.

The Ho Chi Minh City riverside area in District 1 provides some of the best atmosphere in the city. This area is called Ben Bach Dang, and it is a modern riverside park that is situated just below the huge skyscrapers of Ho Chi Minh City.

You might not expect to find such a modern riverside area whilst walking through the rugged streets and alleys, but Ho Chi Minh City is a place of great contrast where you can see traditional and modern life coincide, and the riverside area is a great example of this. It's a peaceful retreat from the rustic city streets, and it offers a great place to walk or relax and take in the park’s scenic views of the Saigon River and the city skyline.

The riverside park area also has a wharf with boats leaving to different areas of the city. If you're interested in exploring other areas of Ho Chi Minh City, taking a boat from here would be a great way to do it. Overall, the Ho Chi Minh City riverside is definitely a must-visit, especially as it offers a view into modern city life in Vietnam.

The Saigon Central Post Office and Notre-Dame Cathedral are located very close together. These two historic landmarks of Saigon can be reached within a few minutes walk of each other, so I highly recommend visiting both on the same day.

It boasts a beautiful blend of Gothic, Renaissance, and French colonial styles, while the interior features soaring vaulted ceilings and a beautifully tiled floor.

Although the prices are a tiny bit higher than the other areas in Ho Chi Minh City, the convenience is the main reason to get a hotel in this area.
Luxury hotels like the Hilton and Sheraton Grand are, of course, reliable if they are within budget. There are many smaller hotels and hostels too, which offer excellent rooms for under $20 USD a night. The standard of room at this price range is usually quite comfortable, and there are a ton of options to choose from.

The area is conveniently located in District 1 and is also known as Little Tokyo. Although it is not as popular as Bui Vien Street, it offers a totally different experience with unique Japanese restaurants and Japanese-style bars. I highly recommend Little Japan Town for anyone looking to experience a relaxed atmosphere and unique cultural experience.
